I get this rush of emotions every time a family contacts me that their baby was born. That the new life they created has made his or her way into the lives of two loving parents and is ready for their photo debut! It is always a noticeable honor to step into the first moments of new baby’s life, first moments that very few outside immediate family get to experience and capture. After years (!!) of experiencing newborns and photographing their first days, I’ve been settling into my own style of photography more and more and getting so comfortable in my own “skin” so to speak. As I step out of traditional posed newborn portraits and more into the world of lifestyle photography if you’ll excuse the technical term, I’ve found myself gaining confidence. The moments I capture are hopefully the real and precious moments Mom and Dad want to cherish forever. Not that all the other styles of newborn photography are any less valid- but there is something magical about being able to stop time in the images I capture.
These are the precious moments of baby Ella, photographed on a peaceful and sunny summer day in Pittsburgh.

Welcome to the world, Ella! You are so dearly loved already.
