I swear I have other kids, you guys, ha! But I’m back with a quick but awesome post for you today all about that black and white. I know you are just as obsessed as I am. As most of you already know from social media and from just seeing our hot mess crew out in public, Sally broke her sweet little tibia a few weeks ago (or so we thought). She just got her second cast cut off today and was still in so much pain. The mystery injury! She was re x-rayed again today and miraculously an actual injury appeared- a fracture to her poor itty bitty growth plate. All things considered she’s doing SO well, teetering around on her bone crusher black boot. Nothing if not dramatic around here!
Since Sally’s leg makes it impossible to wear pants, Gracie got to stand in as my darling clothing model the morning of her surgery to show off the most adorable new children’s boutique, Cookie Couture. Perks of being a tiny five year old that can fit into your 2 year old sisters clothes (yes we have clothing fights in this house already!) If you are a Pittsburgh hockey family you’ll have heard of the Kennedy’s – this clothing brand is the brain child of Brandi Kenney, wife to the much beloved and now retired Tyler Kennedy. Once hockey hubbub had ended, so to speak, the Kennedy family had themselves wondering what their next adventure would be. After hunting around for stylish but more “adult” children’s clothes for her daughter Cookie, Brandi decided to start and curate her own boutique full of neutral and classic pieces that are stylish and adorable for little ones that love to be as fashion forward as their Mama’s! Lots of black and white, graphic prints and classic combinations come together to create the perfect little wardrobe for your mini me. I mean can you even with these little hand prints?!
I love that so many pieces in Cookie Couture come from shops and companies around the globe – Canada, Australia, the Netherlands! – it’s easy to fall in love with the aesthetic of this unique children’s clothing shop. Everything is super soft and Cookie (and Mommy) approved.
I was pretty excited about these hand prints because they remind me how important our hands are in this family – anything with even a tiny nod to ASL is very well loved in this house. And besides the hand prints themselves, Cookie Couture stocks so many other fantastic black and white outfit staples that are awesome for little eyes! It’s no secret that babies and big kids alike are drawn to high contrast images. These types of prints help stimulate their vision and help them focus and track as they are learning about the world around them. So cool, right?! I’ll be snagging this, this, and this (all the ice cream!) for baby Olive. She’s a cool kid already. We can tell!
Grace is a great little model and had such a fun time showing off her special surgery-day sign in her new duds. And I loved that we had a little distraction from the day we were about to have.
Brandi has offered all you lovely people FREE SHIPPING on your entire order in honor of national splurge day on the 18th (it’s a thing! rejoice!) – an exclusive offer just for my readers. Use code SWEETERSIDE at checkout from now until June 18th. And then tag me in your pics because your little cuties will be the very best kind of adorable wearing these fun clothes!

The Sweeter Side of Mommyhood was compensated for providing photos and an honest review of this boutique. As always, my girls and I only share what we know you’ll LOVE and want to look into for your own family.
