When I was a kid, I loved any summer activity that felt like a “best friend club”. My friends and I would dream up secret organizations in my swing set tree house, set up clubs in my basement, and pass around traveling “diaries” all summer long. I loved anything that kept a record or logged our activities, summer book club included!

In the vein of these types of girl-club pastimes, I created a The Summer Bestie Book Club for Lilly and her cousin Cam to work on over the next few months. This would work equally well for boys I just happen to live in girl world of course. Lol!

The following images are what I’ve created to make this summer book club as simple as possible! You can print them on regular computer paper (tap and hold to save or right click to save) but they also print perfectly on sticker labels! So so easy. Just print them out and stick them into or onto any cute journal!

To print these labels on sticker paper formatted for 4”x6” labels, look for a package of paper that suits templates OL1499 – these are what I buy on amazon. Make sure you load them in your printer upside down!! You can also print them on regular paper and cut and glue them down or cut them, color them, and tape them down with clear packing tape to sort of laminate them to the cover of a journal. This is a great option too!
Also, if you’re in the market for a bomb printer I love HP printer. Air printing from my phone and iPad has changed my life. Ha! It also has instant ink which is so so so so handy.

I’m hoping when the girls finish up their books each week they can fill in their book log journals and compare notes! Do they like the same thing? Did they learn new words?

My cousin and I are going to let them hang one evening a week at Starbucks to do their book discussions. They were practically jumping for joy when we told them that… what’s more fun than a Starbucks date as a nine year old?!
I’m putting together a summer book list for middle grade girls so check back here tomorrow for that if you need ideas! SO many new exciting titles out for 9-14ish kiddos.

Happy reading, friends!
