One of my particular joys being a Mama of all girls has been finding the most incredible small shops and treasures for my girls to play with. It is not secret that our family adores special dolls and handmade details (remember when I spent 900 hours making the girls all cloth bunny dolls? Gah!) and I am so very excited to be able to share Ellie and Fern with you today. These absolutely adorable and completely unique cloth dolls are the girls new favorite friend!

How are Ellie and Fern cloth dolls different?

These simple dolls are anything but ordinary. Each one is a perfect size, not too small for little hands. They have bright and happy faces, patterned bodies, but most wonderful of all- hair than can be braided, twisted, put into ponytails or arranged into a bun. It’s been so much fun to watch the girls do their dolls hair every day and delight in making their dolls look different.

Each Ellie and Fern doll can have their own personality and their own wardrobe thanks to the cutest simple garments and accessories that can be mixed and matched. Our dolls came with tops, skirts, rompers ballet slippers and shoes and even mermaid tails and flower headbands!

Ellie and Fern even had an amazing curly haired doll design and can add things like cochlear implants as a custom addition. Gracie absolutely squealed with joy when she saw her cochlear implant doll on her birthday.

There aren’t a lot of “cute” cochlear implant toys or dolls on the market these days. That’s so sad really because it’s such a comfort to kids like Grace to see their own unique traits reflected in a special toy or gift. Don’t the doll implants match her real ones so perfectly? I was so impressed!

Two little brown haired, stripe loving, cochlear implant wearing friends. Totally in love!
I know the years of playing with dolls won’t be our life forever but it is so darling and precious while it lasts!

I love encouraging this type of pretend reading. It gets kids Sally’s age ready for the real thing and excited to be able to finally read the words on the page. Sally loves to pretend read to her dolls!
Thanks for these gorgeous friends, Ellie and Fern!
