This post is brought to you by QALO and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.
Doesn’t it feel like we just got through the last week of school and were rejoicing in summer vacation starting? I can’t believe we are winding down into the beginning of back to school and fall and all things holiday-chaos. I love this season beyond words and am trying not to give attention to those end of summer blues that are as inevitable as needing to set morning alarms again. All of these days are precious to me even when they are long, even when they are tough and exhausting. I feel like we’ve really made the best of each and every one of these summer days filling them up with favorite activities and family and friends. Carpe Diem has always been a little phrase in my head (so much so that I almost re-branded this blog to be the The Diem Girls during a past identity crisis). My husbands entire last name is “Dudt-Mulzet” -fun fact, it’s not my maiden name- and I always refer to our kids as the D-M girls. Those hyphenated names can be a mouthful!
But I’m feeling ok about the end of summer fast approaching because our summer bucket list has gotten pretty long! We completed it backwards this year which I kind of sort of fell in love with. Instead of stressing myself out with all these little things to check off of a giant list, we did anything we wanted to do in the moments and just added them to the list after the fact. Total win! Sadly for little miss Olive Ray, she spent the better part of the summer chomping two little teethies out of her gums. I’m pretty sure teething pain has been responsible for her being extra clingy and wanting to nurse all night. She’s had a noticeable mood change this past week or so though as we finally saw the tiny white bumps pop through for the first time. Lilly and Gracie and Sally were SO excited and proud of her for getting these first teeth which just makes my heart melt. I have no magic teething remedies except time and something great to chew on. If you’ve ever heard of #QALO and the company’s really cool silicone wedding band options (this one is my favorite), you will love their new line of teething necklaces designed in a way to work for Mom’s AND Dad’s. Olive chewed this thing non stop through the airport, on the airplane(s) and all over Costa Rica. Silicone with a side of sand? Yum.
I’m pretty sure the triangle one is her favorite. The shape is such a good one for her to grab onto and stuff into her chubby little face. Each necklace is made with 100% food grade silicone (i.e. is 100% safe to chew chew chew) and has a super durable safety cord closure so when little hands YANK HARD on it, it’ll pop free instead of hurt your neck. Also obsessed with the fact that it can be engraved because it’s so unique (you could make the sweetest keepsake gift out of this!) and the other shapes and styles they carry are adorable. Like the dog tag style- so fun.
The new line of teething necklaces will showcase three designs: Dog Tag, V Pendant and Hex and Barrel.
o The Dog Tag is available in white marble, gray, teal and blue moonstone.
o The V Pendant is available in gray, blue moonstone and black.
o The Hex and Barrel comes in teal/white/marble/gray, white marble/gray and blue moonstone/white marble/gray.
Bonus? They are top rack dishwasher safe!
Cheers to seizing the day and squeezing in a few more summer memories before the back to school chaos begins. Olive said as long as she’s got something to chomp on she thinks she’ll be ok. Lol!
xoxo
