My first go at punch needle rug hooking technique. I pretty much had no idea what I was doing but it was really fun and I learned a ton about the punch needle process. I’ll keep sharing what I learn…My next project needs to be square or rectangle for sure. Circles are not my friend! I got my punch needle from a little Etsy shop with a piece of monks cloth but both are sold out currently so I’m not linking the shop. Just do a search for “the oxford punch” and you should be able to find one!
I wish you could feel how thick and heavy this was!
These are a few of my tools…the Oxford #10, a gripping non-slip embroidery hoop, scrap yarn and some tiny snips. I also used monks cloth for this piece. Also worth nothing I liked the texture of my less fuzzy yarns for this. But I think some of that will be personal preference and just depend on the look you’re going for.
Safe to say there will be more punch needle projects in my future. It’s so much fun. Hooray for new fiber hobbies!
