Most of you know how crazy my mornings get with my five year old Gracie up before 6am to catch her school-for-the-deaf van by 6:50 while juggling nursing a newborn, packing lunches and also handling the 2nd grader, and 3 year old. Everyone has different schedules and different needs and wildly different appetites in the morning. It’s hard to keep myself in order and manage to feel good about what I give everyone racing out the door. I feel like I never have enough time to get everyone anything remotely resembling a “nutritious breakfast” instead grabbing a few handfuls of a sugary cereal, a granola bar or nutella covered waffle. Sometimes Lilly only manages to get a cheese stick or something similar into her belly before needing to wait for her bus. She never has a huge appetite and always wants to do other things in the morning. Fortunately, McCormick’s new Good Morning Smoothie Boost is something she and I love to make together for her breakfast! I can make enough smoothie for her and for Sally who gets questionable nutrition most of the time because – threenager. It absolutely makes me feel better sending her off to a long day of school with enough protein (5g!) and nutrients to last her until lunch.
Smoothies go from ordinary to extraordinary with a boost of taste and nutrition! Blend into your favorite shake recipes for a drinkable breakfast on-the-go. Blend with juice, milk or fruit for a drinkable meal on-the-go. We have been experimenting with the tropical flavor but you can bet I’ll be whipping up that cafe mocha as soon as my Whole30 is complete! Keep reading to see how we turned Good Morning Smoothie Boost into a fantastic, kid friendly recipe your whole family will love.
Ingredients:
1 packet McCormick Smoothie Boost
1 cup Frozen Mango chunks
1 Fresh banana
2 tsp. freshly grated Ginger
1 cup Fresh Pineapple
½ cup Coconut milk (or any milk of choice)
Directions:
Only one step here – blend everything together in your blender (I use a Ninja and LOVE it).
Smoothies are SO easy. It’s nice that I can make a large quantity for anyone in our family that wants one in the morning – saves me from making 5 different breakfasts (because who has time for that?!) which is sometimes my daily norm. I’m happy to inform you that McCormick Good Morning Smoothie boost is approved by the 3, 5, and 7 year old. Success!
What’s your favorite smoothie add in? I love to add chia seeds or flax seed meal. Yum!
