Wanted to share this super easy and quick crochet Pom Hat Pattern I made for Sally the morning I went into labor with Olive. It literally only took 20 minutes to make thanks to some super chunky yarn and a beautiful hand-turned wooden crochet hook (available here). Perfect to whip up over the holidays!
Materials:
1 skein of super bulky yarn (roving yarn works well here) or your can hold together two strands of bulky yarn
1 size US50 crochet hook
yarn needle
Pattern:
Chain 18. Add one chain as your turning chain for every row.
Single crochet for about 5 inches (6/7 rows).
*Single crochet in first two stitches, then decrease one in the next two stitches* repeat for the entire row. (Don’t forget to chain one for turning chain)
Repeat decrease row 1 more time.
Cut yarn leaving a 12” tail and pull through.
Seam down the back with tail yarn.
Close the top opening with piece of yarn and weave in ends.
Add any kind of Pom Pom you like! I just used my fingers for the one- nothing fancy!
Voila! A fun chunky hat for your toddler.
Happy Black Friday!
xoxo

To make adult size, do I just add more chains?
