Super Easy DIY Disney Pin Trading Lanyards

July 26, 2016

This tutorial is so easy it almost can’t be called a tutorial. If you’ve got a trip coming up and have little ones (or big ones!) that are as obsessed with their Disney pins as my babies are, this is a really fun DIY to make lanyards to match anything you want! You can seriously use any kind of ribbon for these Disney pin trading lanyards- endless options.

Materials:

Fashion Swivel Hook

Ribbon

Sewing machine and thread

Directions:

Cut a length of ribbon to the length you want it to be around your child’s neck (do this ON your child to make sure it can slip easily on and off their heads) then cut a second piece of equal length.

Put the two pieces of ribbon wrong sides together (the cute pattern should face out on both pieces) and simply stitch the ribbon together on both sides. So ridiculously easy, right?!

Then overlap the doubled ribbon strips like this:

Slip them through the swivel hook like this:

Fold the ribbon over toward the back, and pin if you need to to keep the layers steady.

Then sew a few rows of stitching back and forth above the swivel clip to secure all the layers.

I think I’m going to let the girls each pick a cool keychain to hook onto their swivel clips. They’ll love that!

That’s seriously it. Totally do-able as a last minute DIY and so much fun for you kids! I can’t wait to see what the girls do with their pins- trade, keep? Each pin is just so cute we might keep accumulating… ha! More lanyards for everyone.

Have a great week!

That’s a good idea to make a lanyard to put your pins on. I would think that would be a good way to display them without having to put holes in all of your clothes. I’ll have to consider doing that if I decide to start collecting trading pins.
