These last couple weeks have been tough on our family. Renovating the new house and packing up the old house. Trying to make a million and one decisions that you hope are good and perfect and budget friendly but not really knowing what you’re doing. Not wanting to mess up. Being too exhausted and stressed to notice how badly your five year old needs one extra chapter of Magic Tree House at bedtime or how your three year old (oh gosh she’s FOUR now!) has seemed to memorize her prayers with no help overnight. Noticing that your extra lovey baby is giving even more kisses than usual, a sign of her need for some extra attention when you are stretched so thin you can barely function.
I had planned to throw a tea party ladies night for my girl friends and I to hang out, relax and maybe learn to crochet. I had plans, I really did. But life opened it’s hands up to God as it usually does and threw my plans for a loop. While I was struggling to hang onto pieces of other things, the things I needed most were hanging on to me.
I threw this Lipton tea party instead for my babies and their dollies, and left the rest up to the man upstairs.
These are the moments that make my heart swell. Watching the girls freak over the simplest table setting and some store bought cookies. Dying inside when Gracie said, “Tea for me?! Just like MomMom?! Just like you?? We are the same?” Thinking about and missing my own Mom who I picture 10 times out of 10 with a tea cup in hand.
Seeing the girls sit and giggle together, glancing at me every so often and sipping their tea cautiously… I just know I was meant to have them with me.
Bonus for tea time is having our dolly guests join us. Saige and South are regular attendees of our family soirees and I think I will just die when my babes aren’t interested in these dolls any more. Can it last forever?
Someone asked on Instagram what kind of tea I give the girls. Lipton’s Peach Mango is by far and wide my girlies favorite. It’s really fruity and subtle without the bitterness of many herbal teas we’ve tried. Real ingredients combine with Lipton’s best herbal tea blends to awaken the senses. If you haven’t seen little girls lift a little mug to their sweet faces to breathe in the smell of freshly brewed tea… You are missing out! I let Lilly and Gracie drizzle in honey and add frozen blueberries until their cuppa is cool enough to drink!
Now even though we love the peach mango- I’m a black tea gimme-all-the-caffeine type of gal. Lipton’s new black teas combine bold aromas and unique flavors to put a twist on traditional black teas. If you haven’t tried them yet and you are camp black tea… You must give them a whirl. So good!
We’re off to church and the last bit of unloading today before tackling the mess we created yesterday officially moving into our new house! Have a happy Sunday filled we stolen moments and hot drinks! It’s the little things that keep us going, right?

They crack me up.

My three lovelies are all grown up now, but we still love having tea together! Enjoy these precious times!
