I know there are many parts of the country that have started school already but Lilly still has one more week of summer before heading into her second grade classroom. After a failed attempt at decorating backpacks last year (oops, I melted a hole right through one of them!) we ditched the iron this year in favor of a glue gun. Patches and pins were all we needed to make these plain bags fancy and special. I love that there is still plenty of room to add patches or pins that we find or come across over the upcoming year and the girls love that they are so customized to what they love.
I love that they only took about 10 minutes to make and were pretty budget friendly too! My only advice is to control yourself in the pins and patches department, lol. For real you could go so crazy with the cuteness available in both categories! I’m going to try not to put patches on everything I own…
Materials:

Backpacks (We used this one because- amazon prime is life and because there are 28+ girls could pick from. Double bonus that they’re under $20 each! )
patches and pins (here is a good patches link and try this one for pins!)
Directions:
1. Hot glue the back of the patches – only add minimal dabs all over. Then press the patches immediately onto the backpack and smooth them down hard until the glue is cool.
2. Pin on the pins.
Lame directions right?! There’s really nothing to them, ha.
Have a wonderful start of school friends! I hope it’s equal parts exciting and relaxing.
