Every winter, I seriously consider breaking up with Pittsburgh. Our relationship barely lasts to see the first breaths of spring. But in summer… Man oh man do I fall hard in love again with our city. I’m so thankful for pool days with my babes (hard as they may be- oy), visits from great friends and family, Picklesburgh, our poor dilapidated garden hanging on by threads, and the SUN that’s finally been gracing us with it’s presence.
This girl is trouble lately… into everything!
My friend Kate snapped these amazing photos of Sally and I. I love this child so dearly.
Sigh. So much love for these people.
^^ What walking with kids looks like for us, ha. ^^
Grace calls these bike racks “the mini monkey bars” and it kills me. Kills me.
Perhaps my favorite moment of summer so far… Brandon snuck Lilly out of bed late on Sunday night to help him make pickles. The house was dark and quiet. Grace was sleeping. My sweet fiver year old and her Daddy chatted away, sharing secret recipes in the kitchen while I nursed Sally in the other room. Lilly’s face was absolutely priceless as Brandon explained the whole canning process. She took her assistants position very very seriously and still won’t share with me what’s in her secret recipe 😉 Heart melts.
This kids EYES. Good grief.
And then there is this girl. Our sweet Sally has been suffering this week from a bad ear infection. Her top two front teeth also seem to be coming in. And we’re slugging through a week with no air conditioner leaving her soft baby skin absolutely covered in heat rash and antibiotic reaction rash. It’s been a tough one, that’s for sure. But I think we’re over the worst of it and she’s happily sleeping it off snuggled up with me most of the time.

We made it to the weekend, loves! Hooray!
