Love, Etsy {GIVEAWAY!}

February 10, 2013

With Valentine’s day coming up, I wanted to share a few things to show how much I love all of you! For the past few weeks, I’ve been gathering and collecting various items contributing to this big giveaway from some of my favorite handmade shops on Etsy! I’ve handpicked these items for you because I personally love each shop and support the small business ventures they are trying to achieve. More and more, it is possible to buy handmade and Etsy is a wonderful venue in which to do just that. I hope you enjoy what I’ve chosen and come to love these shops as much as I do. I promise you’ll love (or love to give away!) each and every treasure on this list. Read to the end of the post for entry details. Happy {early} Valentine’s Day!

If you haven’t seen the new outpouring of hand stitched rag dolls popping up lately, you are surely missing out! Eszter from Cleo and Poppy makes my absolute favorites.

iusb_760x100.9759852_grotShe designs colorful, unique dollies with a beautiful blend of printed fabric and bright felt. These adorable little dollies are hands down the cutest soft play pals around for any baby loving kid in your life. And YES, those are mermaid dolls and little boy dolls- so fab.

cleo and poppy dollsBeyond dolls, Cleo and Poppy also makes these fantastic play crowns.

il_570xN.345205443These would be so perfect for kids to wear at their birthday party, or as a beautiful accent piece in a birthday photo shoot. Beyond that, they of course are the perfect play accessory for all little princesses (and princes, too!).

Back to the dolls- this is the  sweet little girl that Cleo and Poppy has offered up for one lucky reader!  Her name is rainbow rag doll.  I can’t decided what I like most- her tricolor hair, the little lace collar she is sporting, or her polka dot sleeves and knee highs!  She is stuffed firm, double stitched for security, and full of hand sewn details that make her charm pretty irresistible.

Seriously, how cute is she?

Even though there is an abundant outpouring of snow falling down from the heavens this month, I’m yearning for spring and waiting patiently to ready the garden again for planting. Brandon and I were just discussing last night the design for the garden this year and my mind is in warm-weather mode. If you need a little winter pick me up, look no further than these veggie-loving tote bags screenprinted by the lovely Dotti from DKCDesign.

These are perfect reusable shopping bags for all of your produce and will be perfect come spring and summer to load up with the garden goodies that are sure to come.

If you’ve fallen in love with any of the particular images, you can order them on notecards or as beautiful art prints, too.

If I had more wall space in my kitchen, I’d be hanging a matted, framed set of these on the wall as art. Thanks DKC Design!

Twiddle and Tweet is another one of my all time etsy kids clothes favorites. The shop name itself just makes me feel cute-happy-fuzzy baby feelings that I totally love. Their onesies and kids clothing items feature delicate line drawn images that are perfect for dressing your littlest loves. This “into the wild” design makes me oh so happy.

“Twiddle and Tweet began it’s existence in 2009 out of the bedroom and bathroom of our tiny one bedroom apartment. After going to school for advertising design and creating mainly from the computer—I decided to combine my passion in crafting with my graphic design skills to create new ways of mixing organic hand-drawn shapes with modernized graphic motifs. I first started selling scarves and home goods, which was great for awhile but after printing some onesies for a friends baby shower, I discovered the joy this brought me to share in the excitement of their new little ones. After posting a few, these seemed to be a hit and sales were coming in—I was happy to discover high-quality products and a brand personality that resonated well with my customer base. My range of products now spans from onesies, bibs and toddler tees currently ranging from NB to 18M, along with a variety of napkins and tea towels for the home. I have many ideas for my business moving forward so I am very exited to see what the future will bring!

This particular product was inspired from my country up-bringing in central PA. My brother and I spent a lot of our childhood playing in the woods so I thought this design with little creatures would be perfect for a children’s print.” -Chyrie from T + T.

Twiddle and Tweet is giving away this adorable, grey, baby onesie (size 6 months). It’s a long sleeve, so-soft cotton onesie featuring my favorite “into the wild” design. This and a few books (Wild, A Walk In The Woods, and Almost Somewhere come to mind) for the nature loving Momma would make such a cute Mommy-to-be gift. If only our kids could stay little enough to wear these designs longer!

Now for a little Mom’s only spoiling- Rose Bath Bombs from ZENful. Sigh. If only I could insert a little scratch and sniff sticker to the middle of your computer screen and get you to experience the wonderful smell of these fizzie delights. The rose smells fresh and clean and flowery and oh so relaxing. Sinking into a tub with one of these babies is always my solution to any Momma-drama moments of the day.

Fellow Pennsylvanian, Shelley, concocts all kinds of wonderful bath items from soaps to lip balms to linen sprays that all smell amazing.

My favorites:

Sinus Bath Bombs- trust me on this one, there is no better sinus pain/cold relief than setting one of these bombs on the shelf or floor of your shower. The steam releases the essential oils which feel incredible to breathe in and soothe away some of the yuckiest of symptoms. It’s like a Vick’s machine in your shower!

It’s been pretty hard to resist opening these fizzy treats and saving them for you:

_MG_6116 Oh the power of a long, hot bath. Click over to Zen-ful’s Etsy shop to see even more!

(This last item is NOT from an etsy shop- I know, I know- but I couldn’t resist including it in this big giveaway as well- it’s awesome!)

So last but not least, one of my long time most loved kids meal idea resources, Super Healthy Kids, is contributing a set of these Nutrition Portion Plates!  If your kids are like my kids than they already love the sectioned off plates that you’ve probably got filling up your cabinet. This one is different in that it actually teaches kids and parents how we should be filling up our plates. The sections tell you what to put where and make it easy to serve your kids well rounded, nutritionally balanced meals. Beyond these great plates, SHK website is one you’ll truly get lost exploring. I’m not kidding you when I say there are endless kids meal ideas from breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks to holiday and themed meal ideas to gluten free cooking and meal planning. This one woman opperation has grown and expanded so wonderfully over the years and become a multi-Mom effort that every parent needs to know about. I can’t wait to adapt some of the recipes from my free ecookbook, Munchies for Munchkins, to fit the guidelines of this dinnerware. Help your kids learn how to make their own healthy choices by teaching them the magic of good nutrition!

choose my plate

These are only four examples from SHK of the Choose My Plate in use. How good do all these meals look? (I feel a little guilty saying this but most of the meals I give Lilly only included 2 or 3 of the four sections at any given time! We’re going to work on that now!)

In the short while that we’ve had our plates Lilly already totally gets it. She runs to her cabinet to get her plate for each meal and helps me choose something to put in each section. For lunch AND dinner today she chose watermellon for her fruit, peas for her veggie, chicken nuggets as her protein and half a burger bun for her grain. Nothing earth shattering but it’s nice to see her choosing healthy, well-rounded meals almost by herself!

*There is also a vegetarian version of this plate if you or your kids are meat-free 🙂
