Christmas came and went in what seemed like the blink of an eye. The lights, decorations, cookies, movies, special moments- everything happened so fast and was over before we knew it.
But the lingering specialness and the happy aftermath hangs on well into the new year so I’m ok with all of the de-Christmasing that is taking place in our house this weekend. I hate taking everything down, (like stomp my feet around in a two year tantrum, grumpy mood kind of hate) but this year we are making room for special new presents that Santa brought to us so it’s all ok with me. Sister needs room to spread out her doll house, and we need the table back to cover up with new projects. I also need that table to address and send my Christmas Cards New Year cards that are still in the mailer box they were delivered in.
Anyway, we spent today playing with these four little dollies that the girls got for Christmas.
The two that match came from my Aunt Sue. She is a wonderful seamstress and dolly maker extraordinaire. Aren’t they precious?! Each little skirts come off and their hands and feet are nice and firm. They sit up perfectly and are light and soft and sweet. The other two are from an adorable little Etsy shop called Lil Sprinkles. Lilly got ballet lessons from her Grammy for Christmas so I couldn’t resist getting her the little tutu adorned, slipper footed dolly to play with. And ballet dolly needed a sister so little orange hat girl had to come home too. Their names haven’t stuck quite yet, Lilly is back and forth between Kai-Lan, Clementine, Olivia and Lilly.
Now if only we could settle on a home for them… doll house is too small, real house is too “real”… ya can’t win.
