If you’ve been following me for any amount of time recently, you’ve probably heard mention of Wexford Dry Goods or seen pictures of the shops’ beautiful supply collection on my instagram account (@sweetersidemom). WDG stocks yarn, fabric, and gifts that are of superb quality and excellent variety with the product knowledge and project ideas to boot. Seriously people; what this shop carries is miles beyond what’s available at your local big box craft stores and the first place I go when I need materials to make something *special*.
How cute is this cowl I just finished?! More deets coming soon, but I love. it.
What you might not have gathered from my posts, though, is the amazing community that owner, Carolyn, has cultivated inside the walls of her brick and mortar store. Each month, the calendar of events at the store is filled with classes ranging from beginner knitting to tote bag sewing to simple sewing machine starter classes that will have even the least experienced crafter up to speed using basic machine sewing techniques.
This month, I am SO excited to join WDG in offering the first of a three part quilt series with my friend and fellow quilt lover, Kacia, from coconutrobot.com Please just take a minute to click over and see her amazingness- the projects, the style, our sweet little friend whom Lilly calls HarWOAH…
Seriously, go click. I’ll wait…

Ok so, yeah. I know. She’s great! We are thrilled to be teaming up on our first project, offering a seminar style class for all of YOU to come get into this awesomely MODERN world of quilting that combines a traditional craft with a stylish and simple approach to quilting that will get you hooked on sewing blankets for everyone- from your littlest loves all the way up to your oldest family members.
You will walk out of the last class with a FINISHED quilt to stash as an heirloom, handmade gift for the holidays. All while enjoying the company of like-minded women and the beautiful backdrop of the WDG store at night (it’s deliciously perfect in every sense of the word).
This three part class starts on October 21st and runs from 6:30-8:30 in the evening. Enjoy three nights out (one each month), learning everything there is to know about creating your first modern quilt.
Part two and part three of this series are going to be held on Monday evenings at the same time, November 11th and December 2nd. Enrollment cost is $90 total (for all three classes) and materials (with a 10% discount if purchased at the shop!) are only $40.
You’ll be able to find everything you need there, including machines, irons, and knowledge to help you through the process start to finish. Kacia and I can’t wait to get started teaching you our process and passing on our tips and tricks to women who will enjoy the art of quilting just as much as we do.
Definitely drop me a line if you are going to register- I’m so excited to meet some of you! Call or stop in to Wexford Dry Goods in person for the full materials list and to official register for the class.
Is it Monday yet?! (Said no one ever… until now!)
Super excited-
J
