I am so excited to share a special lady with all of you this morning. Grab your coffee (tea, water, orange juice??) and read about her life, her inspiration, and her so-adorable Etsy print shop: Livy Love Designs. I’ll give you all the deets on how to enter the giveaway at the end of the interview. Enjoy!

****
1. Tell me a little bit about who you are- introduce yourself!
I am Diana Smith and I live in Utah with my kids and husband. I grew up in Southern California and moved to Utah in high school. I am a graphic designer and run an online shop called Livy Love Designs where I create artwork for all types of: nurseries, offices, kitchens… just about anything!
Was this made for me?!
2. I absolutely love Livy Love Designs- those prints! Where do you find inspiration?
Inspiration for me is often found in the most random places. I am a pattern obsessed person so I could be at the grocery store and see something that just catches my eye and I like the way it looks so I implement it into my designs. Most of the time, I like to go to Target or look at Pinterest {Hey, us too!} and look at pretty things that get me thinking. That also helps me discover new color schemes.

3. How does the community you’ve built on instagram etc. impact your day to day life?
The community I have built has been one of my favorite things about running my shop. I have met some of my best friends through this all so, of course, that has impacted me more than I could have thought. Instagram and my blog have definitely motivated me to be more true to myself and have also pushed me to keep doing what I love.
4. Your confidence and happy glow are visible in every photo I’ve seen of you on IG! Can you tell me a bit about how you approach beauty- how you approach beauty with your children?
I have always been a very happy positive person. It just is who I am. I honestly have so many amazing people around me who support me so I feel that has helped me discover my confidence. I think every woman struggles with what is beautiful and constantly trying to prove that they are beautiful. Beauty is so much more than looks. Beauty is confidence and knowing that you are doing an amazing job; beauty is finding joy in everything. I tell my children every single day how beautiful they are to me and everyone in their lives. They know they are loved immensely and I try to set an example to them to know that and to not be ashamed or embarrassed to say they are beautiful. With my weight loss journey, I started it because I knew I could be better. I didn’t think I was ugly at a heavy weight, but I just knew that there was more happiness for me. I hope my children will realize that as they get older that just because you might be working on something to better yourself doesn’t necessarily mean you are broken or worthless, it simply means you can always improve and are constantly learning.

5. So many women look up to you and all that you are accomplishing. What would you like to tell them about finding their own journey’s, about life, and about feeling well- mind, body and soul?
We are all at different parts in our lives dealing with our own problems, but I feel we all can connect on one thing and that is being content with our lives and finding true happiness. I am a very spiritual person so I attribute much of my happiness to that, mostly. But I also feel if you know in your heart that you aren’t 100%, try and find a way to get there. It may take you a week or it may take 10 years. As long as you are working towards that goal, you are going to find more happiness than had you stayed the same. When I realized I wanted to start losing weight, I did it because I wanted to be the best me. I am becoming healthier for my children, completing goals I never thought were possible. I have so much more to live for.

6. What are 5 random facts about yourself?
I was a CNA before I got married and didn’t go to school for graphic design until I had been married 6 months.
I am self-prescribed ADD. I can’t sit still and watching TV bores me.
I am running a half marathon in October and am really nervous and really excited!
When I was 8, I helped a cop find a burglar in my neighborhood.
My favorite TV show is Mad Men…Ok I watch SOME TV but rarely 😉

Well, I got lost browsing her Etsy shop and couldn’t resist buying the “Eat Good Food” print when I saw there was a 25% off end of summer sale! I think I find the most joy in the moments when I can look around and see how lucky I am. I’m always looking forward to the next exciting thing in my life, but it feels good to stop and think about how I have everything that I could ever need in the here and now.

I like “home is wherever I’m with you.” That is especially true for our family because my husband is from Germany and stayed in the US after grad school to marry me! 🙂 things that make me happy: the sound of my kids laughing from the other room, seeing their eyes light up when experiencing something new, exercising.
