A Finished Quilt: Teal and Red

July 1, 2013

I’m operating sans computer this week while we are on vacation. No editing, no formatting- so sorry. But I wanted to share my most recent finished quilt because I’m in love with it AND because it was so easy to make. I purchased a “jelly roll” pack from JoAnn’s to use for the quilt top. Definitely love these colors for summer. To finish the quilt i used the last of my handmade striped binding. We’ve decided to keep this quilt at MomMom’s house for the girls (because I love it and can’t part with it!) for them to play on in the family room. Enjoy!

So super cute! I’m saving up all my kids beat up clothes to make into a quilt for their beds when they’re a little older.

Did you just use the fence rail pattern for making the blocks and then randomly put them together? Do you remember what amount of fabric you needed for the backing and binding?

I think I needed about a yard for the backing but really no idea bout the binding, sorry! I had handmade binding left over from another quilt so I just used that. I’d measure for you but the quilt is all the way across the state at my parents house 😉 And I didn’t even know about he fence rail pattern at the time I made the quilt so I just did whatever… but that’s pretty much the gist of it!

Just one 40ish piece jelly roll made the whole quilt top? I’m swooning over some on sale right now and want to get all that I need all at the same time. 🙂
    Thanks!
