..a finished blanket post..
It’s all done! This lovely little berry smoothie colored crochet blanket that I can’t stop unfolding. It’s soft and big and warm and perfect.
It’s up for sale and ready to ship from my Etsy shop.
You can purchase the simple pattern here.
Finished dimension is about 3.5 feet by 4 feet. Perfect for baby, stroller, couch, lap blanket- anything really.
It’s that easy!
This double crochet version of my classic color block baby blankets is looser and floppier than it’s single crochet cousin. (If reading the pattern, just use double crochets instead of singles and make two turning chains at the end of each row). I love how soft that makes it but of course that makes it hole-y-er too (can’t figure out that word this early). Love ’em both!

I just started crocheting but I thought you were supposed to chain three before turning for a double crochet???

I only chain two then turn? Just double checked.. Unless I’m doing something else I don’t know about, it’s working how its supposed to! I have limited crochet knowledge…

This is a gorgeous blanket– 7 skeins of yarn– so much work!!! I love the colors. It is absolutely darling! Some people (I think in the UK?) call what we call triple crochets, double crochets (pull the loops through 3 times.) They call what we call double crochets, half double crochets (pull the loop through 2 times). It looks like you are doing the latter, that’s why you are chaining 2 at the end.
Can’t wait to check out your other blankets!

Love the beauty and simplicity of the afghan. What size hook did you use to obtain the gauge ?

When you did this Blanket did you double up the yarn? I love this look of this. It’s beautiful!
sweeter-side-of-mommyhood says
